The Bluest Eye

The Bluest Eye - Toni Morrison Anti white??? How can anyone say that?!
But then it is easy to relate when you've heard all your childhood that you're dark because you wash your face with the dirt from your feet.
I was curious about it since I heard Toni Morison in a interview where she explained she had this friend ho was truly beautiful but thought she wasn't because she didn't have blue eyes, and this is what inspired the book. it reminded me of stories my mother told me about life in africa when she was young. The same wish to "whiten" yourself, the same prejudices...
And very moving.
